  21.           The TICK docs do a good job of explaining in
  22.           detail the operation of the program. These
  23.           comments are very brief overviews of operations.
  24.  
  25.           Tick is an echo program for files rather than
  26.           messages. There are 2 parts to the program. Tick
  27.           takes care of processing and forwarding incoming
  28.           files, moving them from your netfile area into
  29.           your DVNet area. This program is the one you will
  30.           use most of the time.

  32.           If you have a program you wish to send into DVNet,
  33.           you will use the second program called Hatch. This
  34.           program will launch the file and its description
  35.           to your hub.

  37.           Tick uses .cfg files modeled after confmail/qmail
  38.           areas.bbs. Like message echoes, the file echoes
  39.           use AREA TAG NAMES. The tic.cfg should use the
  40.           area tag DVNet. The path can be anything you want;
  41.           it is only the area tag that is important. Use the
  42.           default PASSWORD for the password. If you desire
  43.           to use this function, netmail your choice of
  44.           password to your hub.

  46.           Your hub may also request you obtain a program
  47.           called RAID. RAID operates just like AREAfix does
  48.           for message echoes only it functions on file
  49.           echoes.

  59.           want to send 17/38 your DVNet listing, please
  60.           Hatch directly to 17/38 using DVLIST as the area
  61.           tag).

  66.           Create a DVlist.cfg using the area tag DVLIST.
  67.           DVlist.cfg is used to send 17/38 your DVNet area
  68.           listing. This .cfg should NOT contain the stopdup
  69.           statement. If you forget and leave this in place,
  70.           it will send your listing only 1 time and
  71.           thereafter tick will see a file called dvlist.dup
  72.           and find that the listing has already been sent
  73.           and will refuse to do it again.

  76.           It is VERY IMPORTANT to use the DVLIST tag so your
  77.           listing will NOT be sent to the other nodes.

  80.           One other thing to notice. When you HATCH a file
  81.           it uses the path statement to locate the Files.bbs
  82.           and it appends the description to the end of it.
  83.           So every month when you send your xxx-xxx.DV list
  84.           it will end up appended to your listing. The LOCAL
  85.           option will make tick append the listing to a
  86.           dummy file called dvlist.bbs.( See the TIC docs
  87.           for details).
